A game about the space between words
Look at two ordinary words for long enough and something interesting can happen. An object becomes a verb. A sound becomes a shape. A connection that seemed unlikely a moment ago suddenly feels obvious.
Chainle.net turns that moment into a five-round word game. Three rounds ask you to bridge two clues, one asks you to bring three clues together, and the last asks for a word with a close meaning. You choose one word each time, then discover how it connects.
Made for a little breathing room
There is no ticking clock and no account to create. The daily table is shared by date, so friends can compare their different routes through the same clues. Practice tables are there whenever you want another go.
The warm paper, word cards and score receipts borrow their feeling from a friendly tabletop game. The most important things stay close at hand: the clues, your word and a clear explanation after each round.
More than one way to make a connection
Each puzzle includes a featured connection and an explanation written for those particular clues. Some also recognize alternative answers. Other words receive an estimate from a local word-vector model.
Language does not always fit neatly into a number. An unusual interpretation may be more interesting than its score suggests. Our scoring guide explains what the model measures, how the points work and where the system can fall short.
Your collection stays with you
Your unfinished table and completed receipts are saved in your browser. There are no public profiles or global rankings. You can revisit your games, see your own progress, or clear the collection in your statistics.
An independent table
Chainle.net is an independent word-game project with its own interface, puzzle collection and scoring implementation. This site is not affiliated with chainle.io.
Whether you arrive with a clever connection or leave with a new one, we hope the table gives your day a small, satisfying pause.
